I wanted to keep the hair as natural as possible. The women of Troy in fallen are prisoners of war, and so their hairstyles should be feasible for women who are being kept as prisoners, who are then being asked to pretty themselves up so they can be sold at auction. I was thinking a lot about what they would be able to take with them, what they would be allowed to keep, and how Helen of Troy would have certain privileges over the other women because of her 'increased value'.
It's difficult to see in photos, but we used lipstick to create the effect of rope burn on their wrists and ankles from being bound by their captors.
