My current workspace is in a partially finished basement. My family has a notable history of, and professional background in, home rennovation and so in an impressive display of hubris I said to myself: "Well if they can do it, I can do it".
It is absolutely nowhere near being a professional job.
I'm haunted every time I take a shower by the myriad of mistakes that, to me at least, are blindingly obvious. That being said, I wouldn't have made this page if I wasn't at least a little bit proud of it. It's a C+ job (at best), but it's up to code, and the experience was invaluable. I took a gap semester for Spring 2024 and I spent that tuition on learning lessons I would never get from university.
My experience in set design became extremely relevant, and I created elevations and cost-outs to create a functional bathroom that I could be proud of. My father helped me get started with the plumbing, and I got to work.
